Official release from Penn State Athletic Dept on the arrival of ESPN College Gameday this Weekend

ESPN’s popular College GameDay Built by the Home Depot program, with host Chris Fowler and analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard, will originate from Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 26, as the Nittany Lions host unbeaten Iowa in a Big Ten showdown to open the conference slate.

The program will air from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET, with other live segments throughout the day, as well as late Friday afternoon. The public is invited to attend.

The No. 5/4 Nittany Lions (3-0) and Hawkeyes (3-0) will kick off in Beaver Stadium Saturday at 8:00 p.m. on ABC, the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com. The clash will be nationally televised by ABC.

This year marks the 16th consecutive season College GameDay Built by the Home Depot is originating from the site of the day’s best game. College GameDay airs every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. during the football season. Fowler, Corso and Herbstreit are in their 14th season together on College GameDay.

Saturday’s broadcast marks the third time College GameDay has originated from Penn State in the past five seasons and the fifth time overall. College GameDay was in Happy Valley for the 2005 and 2007 Ohio State contests, as well as the 1999 Pigskin Classic against Arizona and the 1997 game against Michigan.

In addition, College GameDay has originated from Penn State’s games at Michigan State (2005) and Ohio State (2008) during the past five seasons, with the Nittany Lions winning the Big Ten Championship and a BCS berth both years.
